Together, we will focus on solutions and help you learn how to cope with life's challenges; so that you can enjoy your life to the fullest. Dr. Marcelo uses a variety of therapeutic techniques with an emphasis on cognitive behavioral therapy, support, and skill development. He takes a team approach with his clients and strongly believes in the value of the therapeutic relationship and empowering clients to make decisions in the treatment process. As opposed to some approaches of therapy which may take several years, Dr. Marcelo believes in the efficacy of a briefer counseling model when possible.
What to Expect From Our Work Together?
During our initial appointment, we will discuss the concerns and issues that bring you to therapy. Then, we will collaborate on treatment goals. During our work together, I will teach you strategies and skills so that you can feel and perform better. Many of my patients report feeling better within the first month of therapy and continue to improve thereafter.
Dr. Marcelo's Experience
For over 25 years, Dr. Marcelo has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families with a variety of challenges including: Addictions, ADHD, Anxiety, Autism, Bipolar Disorder, Career Indecision, Depression, Disabilities, Divorce, Grief, Infidelity, Learning Difficulties, OCD, Parenting, Stress, and Substance Abuse. Dr. Marcelo is a retired Special Education Leader in pre-k to 12th grade public school districts and Former Associate Superintendent.
On a personal note, Dr. Marcelo is the father of three children. His eldest son Ryan passed away in 2022. His interests include working out, out-door activities, gardening, German shepherds, and vintage American cars.
Dr. Marcelo provides individual, group, marital, and family therapy to adults, adolescents and children. Referrals for comprehensive psychological evaluations and medication are available. Serving the needs of children, adolescents, adults, couples and families
